Last week I had the amazing opportunity to appear on the TODAY show! (Carley had lost her voice so I got the call early that morning to take her place.) The theme of the segment was "splurge vs. savvy wedding ideas" and our keynote talking points and tips were all about how to work with amazing wedding vendors to get a gorgeous wedding day look.
To pull it off, we featured amazing wedding cakes from Cheryl Kleinman Cakes, dresses from Kenneth Pool and Camilla La Vie, and stunning floral centerpieces from Hatch Creative Floral Design.
I do want to mention though that we had a total miscommunication with our florist on the cost of the centerpieces. The prices I had in my notes only included the hard cost of the flowers -- not the cost for labor, installation, etc.
When I saw the flowers on set for the first time that morning (and literally 5 minutes before we went live!), I thought they looked too big for $100 and $400 arrangements. Turns out they were! Later, I confirmed and clarified with our florist that those two arrangements would have cost $250 and $650. (I made sure to clarify this for our brides on my Wedding Obsessions blog).
But even so, we still achieved our overarching goal: To show and encourage brides that the key to an amazing wedding day look is to be flexible (with flower type, frosting choice, etc.) and to hire and put their trust in amazing wedding vendors like you. (Not to take the DIY route!)
